Super First World Decisions
Hey. In a few weeks I want to purchase a new Mac Book Pro. Due to cost I am not seriously considering either of the retina options.
I am heavily leaning towards the 13” MBP due to cost and portability. I don’t do a lot of gaming, but occasionally I will get a game (for instance COD or the new Sim City) and play it aggressively for a month or two or three, and then maybe not play any games for months. So, during that time I might be playing several hours a day.
I also would not describe myself as a “heavy” video editor, but occasionally I do edit short videos together for fun or little side projects.
Anyway, like I said, heavily leaning towards the non-Retina MBP, but I’ve gotten really nervous over comments I’ve read about its ability to play games due to the integrated GPU. So, I am considering the 15 inch.
But… now I’ve read that if you use Bootcamp and install Windows 7 or 8, that even the 13 inch should be able to run games very well. Can anyone tell me if this is true and clarify why running Windows on a Mac lets it play games better?
I’m not a windows hater, but I’ve never run Windows on a Mac before and I’m kinda skeptical that such a thing could work well. Thanks for the advice.
